When They Weren't Looking A Small Town Romance Wardham Book 4 eBook Zoe York

Evie ANNOYED me. The hot & cold mixed signals thing isn't really my thing. There wasn't any real evolution to their relationship. They meet, do the horizontal tango, & shes preggers. He finds her. Shes super annoying & pretty much a b*tch to him the ENTIRE book. Hes patient (and way more mature than her, given shes 7 yrs older) with her and tries to prove himself when he hasnt done anything to need to. She has these hang ups that the author only hints at, but doesnt really touch on. BUT theyre big enough hang ups to justify her shittiness towards Liam. **poof** though, she suddenly gets over them and its all roses and sunshine. the book needed to end, so the author wrapped everything up too nicely & quicly...

If the book hadnt been free, i would have been super irritated if i had spent money on it

When They Weren't Looking A Small Town Romance Wardham Book 4 eBook Zoe York Reviews

This book has a very good premise, and I liked the main characters, but it seems incomplete in some way. I'd have liked more of their backstroke to have come out. More about Evie and Dale, but especially about Liam and his family. Then there's the whole numbering system for this series, and the extra novellas included in some of them. Read this, then read the next book, but it allot jt, just till the first ending. Then read the extras in the previous book before you read the extra in this one. The problem with the wedding novella in this one is that it doesn't tell you there are soldiers for the next two books in the series. It's all confusingly formatted.
I typically love the "Oops Baby plot but in this instance the heroine got on my last effing nerve! Couple meets at a bar, sparks fly, she hasn't gotten laid since her divorce and 6 weeks later the unthinkable happens. Usually gets me. Didn't this time. Thank God it was free though.

I loved the Hero, Liam. He was SUCH a patient guy it was maddening! He dealt with her off-putting personality, crabby mood swings and pro-feminist horsesh*t, macrobiotic/organic, Pilates teaching S***! Ugh! More than half the book was a mind numbing "push and pull" between Liam and Evie and there were several times I wished he'd just hoof her in the front butt and walk away. AFTER he got to have a foursome with a bunch of Co-eds. I hated her THAT much.

The book had it's moments though. The bonding between Liam and Evie's two sons was nice. How he handled his business to take care of his family and the sexy times weren't bad. This one needed a serious edit down of all Evie's insecurities and previous relationship hangups. I get that her ex was a bastard but COME ON! A sexy and incredibly sweet guy is throwing himself at your feet and you drag yours?? Despicable. Flip a coin with this one because depending on how moody a reader you are, it might not work for you either. I still love this author though, so there's that.
Interestingly enough, for Liam to be younger than Evie, he definitely was the more mature person in the relationship. I really liked Liam, and started to like Evie once she stopped blowing hot and cold and made a decision.

Not my favorite, but a good addition to the Wardham series.
This is book 3 in the Wardham series but you can certainly read it as a standalone as the author does a great job incorporating the characters of the town from the first books and gives you a synopsis of their stories. Obviously, if you read the others first, I do think you would enjoy this one even more.

I loved Evie in the first book. She is a struggling single mom of 2 boys but has great family support from her mom and sister and runs a yoga/fitness studio. She is gorgeous yet her self-esteem has taken a big hit due to her divorce but she doesn't complain and is so incredibly likeable and strong. She takes a long overdue weekend away thanks to her mom and meets Liam at the hotel bar. Ok, Liam is truly the perfect man. OMG...you will love him and wish we could all meet a Liam. There is instant chemistry bewteen them and Evie let's loose and they do indeed have a one night affair. However, she leaves in the middle of the night and doesn't even know Liam's last name or where he is from. Even though they used protection, Evie finds herself pregnant and while she is freaked out, she has always wanted more children so she is also happy. She sets to try and find Liam and she does....since Liam has come to town to find her and ask her out! Let the fun begin!

This is a great story between two people who find their way to each other. Evie is of course aprehensive and I was a bit frustrated with her actions but as the story unfolds, you can understand her and it all makes more sense to me as to why she kept giving Liam mixed singles. Liam is simply perfect. He is 7 years younger than her but really handles everything perfectly. You don't get to hear much about his upbringing...you get some of the story and I would have liked a bit more but it's enough to understand him as well. I have written reviews on the other books and have enjoyed them all. The first book is my favorite though as I just loved Laney and Kyle's story. There are some steamy scenes...fyi.
Evie and Liam have a happy ending but the author let's you know that a novella about them will be coming out in the future and I will look forward to reading it since I felt that there is definitely more to their stories. Honestly, one of the best series I have because I so enjoy seeing all of the other characters in the books with their stories continuing along with no cliffhangers. And, there are a whole lot more characters from Wardham that have stories to tell!
